How can I tell if I have a mold problem?
If you can see it or smell it. You may also be experiencing physical symptoms.
Why do I have a mold problem?
Mold becomes a problem when water leaks or moisture conditions allow it to grow in our homes. Mold growth produces mold spores that are released into the air. Testing the air can determine mold spore levels.
Should I be concerned if I see mold?
Maybe. Mold can become a hazard to our health if we are exposed to elevated levels of mold allergens such as found in mold spores. People who are sensitized to these allergens will often react more quickly and severely when exposed to elevated levels. Testing the air is one way of determining exposure levels.
Are most mold problems the same?
No. The amount of mold and the where it’s growing is directly connected to how big a problem it is. For instance, mold growing on the inside of a wall cavity is a much bigger problem than mold growing on an AC supply grill.
Do all mold problems require professional services?
No. Typically, water leak issues cause the kind of mold problems requiring professional services.
Will the mold come back?
Yes, unless the underlying moisture issue resolved. It is our job to figure out what that issue is and how to fix it.
Is a license required to do mold assessments?
Yes. Donaldson Environmental is licensed by the State of Florida to perform mold assessments in residential homes and commercial buildings.
